Pour a good layer of oil into the pan. Use an oil that can handle high temperatures. Olive oil. for example. is not well suited for this purpose. Let it boil for 5 minutes. Don’t be alarmed by the smoke. this is normal. After 5 minutes you can pour off the oil and dry the pan with kitchen paper.
